Reviews
I couldn’t put this book down. Once I finished, I lay awake for hours - from recognition, longing, and hope.
This book says out loud what we all think but never dare to say. I felt seen like never before.
Four women meet at a spa, without knowing that this one encounter will change their lives forever.
Emma, Patricia, Isabelle and Gabriella seem to have it all. Or so they think. Because behind that façade, they’re missing something essential. Something that isn’t easy to talk about. Something they have — like so many women — learned to stay silent about.
During a chance encounter at the spa, they start talking. They soon discover they have more in common than they ever expected. The same questions. The same frustrations. The same desires that were never spoken out loud.
Lines that stay with you, like:
“No one tells you how loud the silence gets when you sleep alone.”
“We’ve grown used to being grateful for the bare minimum.”
“We pay for everything, except for what we need the most.”
“Free attention can sometimes come at the highest price.”
What begins as a chance encounter grows into a remarkable friendship. They become each other’s support, mirror, and perhaps even the beginning of change.
This book isn’t for everyone. It challenges you, makes you think, and dares to touch on themes that are often avoided. Not to shock, but to convey a deeper message: that women are allowed to recognize their own worth and don’t have to settle for less than they deserve.
I had the chance to proofread this book at Dahlia Midnight’s request, and I’m so glad I did. It moved me, made me think, and several times made me pause and reflect on my own views about certain things.
For me, this is absolutely a must-read — a book you don’t simply put down.
Finally, a book that isn’t the standard story of a rich macho man dominating a shy girl. Just a raw and sexy story about women who want to decide about their own lives. It’s not what you expect, so go in with a blank mind and just enjoy the read. I definitely recommend it and I’m very curious about the next part.
What a beautiful debut. It took me a moment to get into it and get to know the women. But after that I couldn’t put it down. In the various desires and struggles of the women, I recognized parts of myself. I too have wrestled with my own desires and wishes. It’s beautiful to see them spoken out loud and experienced here. Would I dare to take that step Emma takes at that point? It’s lovely to ask yourself that. Looking forward to the next book and the adventures of these Spa sisters.
This is a lovely example of ‘everyone thinks about it but no one says it’ — until now! I really enjoyed this book. Afterwards I genuinely found myself wondering: ‘Is this something for me..?’. How could something like this work for me? There’s so much more to it than I suspected. I’d really love to have the paperback too🥰 .
